Welcome to this fourth class on the bases of the export process in Costa Rica. This time, I will go into practical matters and explain how you can export a relatively small volume of product and who provides the service. Costa Rica currently has two options to export small volumes: Courier and Exporta Facil.
Tool: COURIER
It is any company that offers services for the delivery of documents and packages at an international level . The delivery method is door to door.
Tool: EASY EXPORTATION
Provided by the postal service, it uses the Correos de Costa Rica network. This modality has the benefit of lower costs and simplification regarding transport logistics, it does not depend on hiring a customs agent. The process and requirements to use it is as follows
1.Go to a branch of Correos de Costa Rica and fill out the form.
2.Submit commercial invoice (with breakdown of price costs)
3.Permits and certificates of origin.
Tool: CARGO CONSOLIDATOR
It is a company dedicated to buying spaces in means of transport (maritime, land or air) and selling it to clients who need to send small volumes of cargo.
Documents necessary to enter the country of destination
The following are requirements for the products to enter the destination country:
1. Transport document: It serves to verify the right of the consignee (to whom the product is intended) to enter the country. This document can be: Air waybill, carriers certificate, bill of lading, etc.
2. Commercial invoice: It must describe the merchandise and the unit and total cost.
3. Cargo or entry manifestCustoms control document that protects the goods transported, from where they are loaded to where they are unloaded for delivery.
4. List of goodsList the products that make up the shipment.
