If you are a small or medium-sized entrepreneur, it is very likely that you have considered at some point the possibility of taking your products or services to the foreign market. Good for you, but the process to trade internationally is not as easy or intuitive as it may seem at first glance. In Costa Rica there is a set of rules and regulations that must be followed.

Review of Costa Rica

Our country has extensive experience in trade with more than 140 markets and a portfolio of more than 4000 different products. A strengthened foreign trade policy and free trade agreements are some of the points in favor of our role as exporters.

What types of products do we export?

Costa Rica exports many varieties of products, including agricultural ones (such as coffee, bananas, etc.). The market for electronic circuits, medical equipment and supplies has also increased greatly. Recently, there has been an explosive growth in software exports and outsourcing services. The consulting sector: Accounting, administrative, advertising, market research, architecture, etc. They have had an increase of almost three times in the last decade, reaching an amount close to 5,000 million dollars.

What is going to be covered in this course?

The level of this course will be introductory for the novice exporter, who does not have the knowledge of the tools that he has at his disposal to export in our country. We will discuss strategies to improve your chances of success of becoming an exporter. We will also analyze some legal terms that are of vital importance to any international trade effort, including INCOTERMS.
