Greetings, today I want to continue with this series of practical advice. On this occasion I want to comment on safety measures for driving motorcycles. Almost daily the news report deaths and accidents on the road where one of the victims was driving or riding a motorcycle. These vehicles have many advantages, they allow moving with low consumption costs, the dams virtually disappear, etc. But they present serious risks for the driver and passenger.

What are the basic safety measures to take into account?

1. HELMET:Wounds in the head region are the most frequent. This safety element is sometimes looked down upon by drivers, but it is vitally important. The motorcycle does not offer any protection to the riders body so the helmet is the difference between a fatal outcome and a lesson learned.

NOTE:Remember that the helmet is necessary for the passenger as well.

2. GENERAL CONDITION OF THE MOTORCYCLE:Check the level of fuel, oil, and other liquids of the motorcycle. Also, the air pressure of the tires, the condition and cleanliness of the mirrors, the operation of the directional and brake lights. A general check-up is important before setting off. The headlight should work properly.

3. REGARDING THE LOAD:The maximum load of the motorcycle should not be exceeded. If you are traveling with more weight than your motorcycle was designed to carry, the behavior of the vehicle will not be predictable and increases the risk of mechanical failure due to wear and tear or stress while riding. Likewise, check that any load that you intend to transport this strap so that it does not fall and can become entangled in the chain or wheels of the motorcycle. It is a dangerous situation if on the road some object gets entangled between the rays of the motorcycle.

Safety measures while driving?

DO NOT SIDEWALK O PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS:Avoid driving on sidewalks or pedestrian areas. This is dangerous for people who walk.

AVOID RIDING IN A GROUP:Avoid riding in a group with two or more motorcycles side by side. If one had a problem or loss of control, it could cause others to lose it too.

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE:Keep an adequate distance from other vehicles. Never hold on to the rear of another vehicle, nor travel too close to buses or cargo vehicles such as trucks.

PASSING:Never go to the right, or scratch between two vehicles . They are very dangerous maneuvers. Also, do not invade the opposite lane to pass a vehicle on single lane streets.

STUNTS:Although it seems obvious, NEVER perform stunts while riding your motorcycle. These actions endanger your life and the lives of those around you and other drivers. If you want to do this type of activity, you can carry them out in places designated for that purpose such as racetracks or private streets.

Conclusion:

A motorcycle is a great responsibility. It is a vehicle that offers many advantages, but it represents one of the most dangerous vehicles in which it can be transported. These minimal security measures will lessen the chance of it becoming just another statistic. Better safe than sorry. That this well.
